We believe the first sporting experience a child has shapes how they feel about sport forever. So we make it warm, structured and genuinely fun.
Our mission
Hockey Skills Academy exists to develop preschool children through hockey — building gross motor skills, coordination, balance and confidence at exactly the age when those foundations are formed. Our tagline says it best: building little champions one lesson at a time.
A hockey head start means your child arrives in Grade 1 already comfortable with a stick and ball, already used to listening to a coach, and already believing they can do it.
Our philosophy
Professional structured coaching
Every session follows a planned progression, delivered by coaches who understand preschoolers — not a watered-down adult drill.
Individual attention
Small groups mean each child is corrected kindly, praised often and never lost in the crowd.
Age-appropriate fun
Games, stories and challenges keep energy high. If they’re laughing, they’re learning.
Who it’s for
Preschool children, primarily ages 3 to 5 — boys and girls equally welcome. No experience, no talent test, no pressure. Every child starts exactly where they are.
Where sessions take place
Sessions run at various schools across the Gauteng area, once per week per school for approximately one hour. Contact us to find out whether HSA already coaches at your child’s school.
